The Program
What We're Striving Toward: Varsity-Ready and Beyond
At Hoops World Elite, our first goal is to help players earn their place on their high school varsity team. That means helping them become complete players—fundamentally sound, team-oriented, coachable, and dependable. We teach the habits, mindset, and skills that high school coaches look for: solid footwork, smart decision-making, strong defense, unselfish offense, and vocal communication.
We’re not here to make promises we can’t keep. The truth is, playing college basketball is incredibly competitive. Fewer than 7% of high school players go on to play at the next level (DI, DII, DII, JUCO, NAIA). But what we can promise is that we’ll train your child with the same seriousness and structure required to compete at that level.
We take pride in preparing our athletes the right way—with intentional coaching, developmental practice plans, and competitive environments. If a college opportunity becomes possible, we’ll help families understand the path and prepare. But it all starts with building varsity-ready players—those who stand out because they do the little things well and understand how to help a team win.
Because before you play under the college lights, you have to earn your place on the varsity team—and before that, in the starting five. We train our players with that clarity in mind.

Our Levels

Our basketball program is built as a 4-year pathway to help players grow step-by-step—from beginners to varsity-ready athletes. Each level is designed to build skills, confidence, and game understanding while living out the S.T.R.I.V.E. values: Sacrifice, Trust, Relentless effort, Intensity, Vision, and Excellence
Select is the starting level, focused on fundamentals and development. Players here are learning how to train, how to play team basketball, and how to compete with character. It’s not about being the best now—it’s about building the right habits and mindset for long-term success. At this stage, players learn sacrifice by showing up consistently and trust by believing in the process.
Elite is the next level, where the competition rises and the expectations grow. Players are now expected to compete relentlessly, push their limits, and sharpen their decision-making under pressure. Training is more intense and detailed, with a focus on advanced skills and speed of play. Athletes begin to show vision—setting personal goals and working hard to reach them.
Varsity is the top level of our program, designed to prepare players for high school varsity and beyond. It’s where all the work pays off. Here, players are expected to lead, perform under pressure, and pursue excellence every day. Training includes high-level concepts, leadership development, and game-readiness. These are players who have STRIVED—and are now ready to shine.
From Select to Elite to Varsity, this is a journey of growth. Each step builds on the last. If you commit to the process, stay coachable, and live the STRIVE values, you’ll be ready to compete, lead, and make an impact when it counts most.

Our Practices

Team Practice Levels: Select. Elite. Varsity. One STRIVE Path.
Our team basketball practices are designed as a 4-year progressive system that develops players from the ground up—preparing them for high-level varsity play. Rooted in the USA Basketball Youth Development Guidelines and driven by our S.T.R.I.V.E. values—Sacrifice, Trust, Relentless effort, Intensity, Vision, and Excellence—each level builds on the one before it, creating a clear and purposeful training journey.
-
Select practices focus on individual skill development and teaching players how to train the right way. Athletes build their foundation through drills that improve ball-handling, shooting, footwork, and overall fundamentals. The emphasis is on forming good habits, learning the value of sacrifice, and developing trust in the process.
-
Elite practices offer a balanced approach between skill work and live competitive play. Players are challenged in real-time situations—small-sided games, decision-making drills, and tempo-based scrimmages—to help them learn how to compete. This is where athletes start turning mechanics into instincts and effort into performance.
-
Varsity practices are geared toward competitive execution and learning how to win. Sessions are fast-paced, strategy-focused, and built around game simulation. Players are expected to lead, communicate, and consistently perform at a high level. This is where vision becomes reality and excellence is the standard.
No matter the level, every HOPS practice is about building players who STRIVE to improve, lead, and compete—both now and in the future.
